Growing up I was often told to be good; to do what I was told; not to talk back. Now I realise that the things I’m most proud of in my life are the times I didn’t do what I was told, when I didn’t listen to advice, when I challenged the experts, when I flew in the face of conventional wisdom.

Being part of a team has always been important to me, and I firmly believe in the value of learning from others. But everybody is different, and what works for someone else might not work for me. Learning to follow my own instincts has helped me to realise my goals, and I think it’s so important to challenge each other and arrive at our own conclusions.

You won’t arrive somewhere different by following the crowd.
